Nếu bạn không muốn tham gia Kế hoạch bảo hiểm y tế dành cho sinh viên, bạn phải từ chối hoặc chọn không tham gia bảo hiểm bằng cách gửi miễn trừ. Bạn chỉ có thể chọn không tham gia bảo hiểm trong các Thời kỳ miễn trừ sau:

Students will be enrolled in the plan unless you submit a waiver

All domestic students are required to enroll in D'Youville's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) . The insurance fee will be charged to students' accounts. If you have alternative health insurance coverage, you may waive your enrollment in the SHIP.

Để được miễn tham gia chương trình SHIP, D'Youville University yêu cầu sinh viên cung cấp bằng chứng về bảo hiểm tương đương với bảo hiểm do chương trình SHIP của D'Youville cung cấp. Xin lưu ý rằng yêu cầu miễn tham gia sẽ được xem xét và xác minh tính hợp lệ với công ty bảo hiểm. 

Waiver Requirements:

1. Coverage must be active with the expectation that coverage will continue for the rest of the academic year 8/1/26 - 7/31/27.
2. Coverage must be issued by an insurance company based in the U.S.
3. Coverage must be ACA-compliant, meaning your plan:
   • Does not have limitations or exclusions for pre-existing conditions.
   • Provides the 10 Essental Health Benefits required by the ACA.
   • Does not have per year or lifetime benefit maximums on the Essential Health Benefits.
4. Coverage must allow the insured student to receive routine medical care within a 50 mile radius of the Buffalo, NY campus (plans that only cover emergency care will not be accepted).

The following types of plans do not meet the above criteria:

• Out-of-state Medicaid
• Out-of-state HMOs (including Kaiser Permanente HMOs)
• Healthcare Sharing/Ministry Cost Sharing Plans
• International Plans
• Travel Plans
