Se você não quiser o Plano de Seguro Saúde Estudantil, você deve recusar ou optar por não receber a cobertura enviando uma isenção. Você só pode optar por não receber a cobertura durante os seguintes Períodos de Isenção:

Students will be enrolled in the plan unless you submit a waiver

All domestic students are required to enroll in D'Youville's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) . The insurance fee will be charged to students' accounts. If you have alternative health insurance coverage, you may waive your enrollment in the SHIP.

Para obter a isenção do SHIP, a disciplina D'Youville University exige que os alunos apresentem comprovante de cobertura de saúde equivalente à oferecida pelo SHIP da D'Youville. Informamos que o pedido de isenção será analisado e a situação da apólice será verificada junto à seguradora. 

Waiver Requirements:

1. Coverage must be active with the expectation that coverage will continue for the rest of the academic year 8/1/26 - 7/31/27.
2. Coverage must be issued by an insurance company based in the U.S.
3. Coverage must be ACA-compliant, meaning your plan:
   • Does not have limitations or exclusions for pre-existing conditions.
   • Provides the 10 Essental Health Benefits required by the ACA.
   • Does not have per year or lifetime benefit maximums on the Essential Health Benefits.
4. Coverage must allow the insured student to receive routine medical care within a 50 mile radius of the Buffalo, NY campus (plans that only cover emergency care will not be accepted).

The following types of plans do not meet the above criteria:

• Out-of-state Medicaid
• Out-of-state HMOs (including Kaiser Permanente HMOs)
• Healthcare Sharing/Ministry Cost Sharing Plans
• International Plans
• Travel Plans
